Wednesday Training done!

I'm still not feeling myself.... I only seen to realize this when I run...
I feel good, have no cough or running nose....but while running I feel my energy is not as good as it usually is and also my breathing ~ I really struggle up the hills.
~Even with walking~
Makes me feel like a beginner all over again.
I've cut back from running daily....I now run every second day instead, hoping this will help me recover quicker.
I find it * hard * to be the one struggling in the group right now :)

This morning two neighbors and I met at 9am...for a 7.6km run ( 4,7 miles )
It was a cold 4 degrees outside...I am not used to running in such cold weather and found with my chest and the cold I really struggled.
I hate struggling....I hate struggling!!
Time 56 mins as walked most of the steep hills
HR ~ 127 - 149
Burned 730 calories
30% fat

  1. You have the MOST GORGEOUS bread I've seen anywhere - you must have an amazing bakery there (maybe Kerstin's parents!!!!). I would have a TOUGH time eating only (1) piece.

Sorry you're having a struggle but REMEMBER, "Struggles bring STRENGTH!" Hang in there.

  2. That looks delicious!

    Without struggle we wouldn't learn.
(I know how you feel though...it's hard in the middle of it. But wait until you come out at the end...and look how far you have already come Marcy!!!!)

Would you like a caramel apple to cheer you up...sugar does this for me;))
    Happy day to you.
    Hugs!

  4. I had to laugh at Casey's comment, 4 degrees is quite normal where we live :) although I find it chilly in the morning too, have to get used to that again.

Good idea to run every other day for now. I'm sure you get your usual form back soon once you're feeling better.

We have those breads in Holland too, love them.

  5. Personally I love the cooler temperature, but I'm not one for a lot of heat - especially when I run.

Cut your self some slack Marcelle. You're not feeling well and probably most people who were feeling the same wouldn't run at all. Don't be so hard on yourself. Take care.

  6. Oh sweetness, I'm sorry you're struggling. It must be so frustrating. You'll be strong again. I doubt it's the weather, but just your body needing healing. Praying for you.

  7. ugh, i hateee running in the cold, i usually just never do it. i feel like my body is really sensitive to breathing in the cold air, and my lungs and throat feel it for days after! i usually try to wear a neck warmer and breathe into that.. but usually in the winter, treadmill it is!

  8. Is the struggling coming from the cold weather? Don't you usually go to the gym by now? Maybe that is the reason. I know walking in the cold for me makes me feel short of breath.
