Da 28/50

I nearly logged off for the day when I remembered I needed to update my blog first.

Today is day 28/50

Last night I got a stunning box of Lindt chocolate from my neighbor.
A thank you gift for the photo's I took of her daughter which I did free of charge
I knew as I thanked her and accepted the gift that I would not be eating one of these chocolate
Not cause I can't due to the challenge
But cause I choose not to eat the chocolate.
Came inside and gave them to Hubby who loves a block or two before going to gym or running at night after a heavy day at work.
He offered me one and I said * No, thank you *
He's reply got me laughing.
* NO ONE WILL KNOW IF YOU HAVE ONE *
hahahaha, true words.
No one would know....except ME...the ME is the important one in my opinion.

Day 28 was a successful day for me.
I didnt train today
So its two days in a row without training
In my books...thats okay.
Tomorrow morning I have a run planned with my neighbor.
That means this last week I have

TAUGHT 3 CLASSES
RAN 18KM - AND MORE TOMORROW
DID A INTERVAL WORKOUT AT HOME

Thats enough for one week.

Day 27/50

Friday.....that means I am going to have a glass of wine with my dinner.
My Friday night special....white wine in summer and red wine in winter.
Its so hot at the moment....30 degrees...but feels a lot hotter.
Not been outside today to tan....
When the cooler weather arrives the weekend I will regret it I know
Have been in the sun everyday since Monday for about 3 hours a day.
My Vit D levels are up again thankfully.

I'm on day 27...if I add the 17 DD I did before then I am doing this challenge for over a month already and all is going well.
I still have not sugar cravings or cravings for anything that is considered * bad *
I feel guilty when its so easy for me and I see how others struggle and crave.

Okay so now for the weigh in report as promised.
I didn't weigh myself before the start of the 17 DD, I had scale fear as I could feel on my clothing I had gained a bit more weight than I like to carry.
I weighed myself for the first time the day after the 17 DD
so from that weight to this morning I have lost 3kg's
I'm happy to see the scale moving down
I'm happy to feel my newest pair of shorts (bought before our Italy holiday ) are very lose.
I would like to weight 1/2 kilo's less...not that I need to, its that number I have discussed before.
Will see where I end when finished the No sugar challenge.

Have a good Friday night
I'm going to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics later.

Day 26/50

This morning I decided it was time to run in my Vibram shoes again, its been 3 weeks since I last ran in them. I don't want to run on the road with them as they are trail run shoes and as the weather has been so miserable so my only runs have been on the road...
I decided I had to start all over again as I could feel my achilles were feeling a little sore at the start of my run....
I walked up the hills...a few times with short interval runs and ran the flats and downhills.
Did 8.55km
When I got home the balls of my feet were really sore as I felt every stone today.
A tractor has been up our route to clean the forest which was very over grown...I think the tyres tossed the ground a little...so stones were all on top and not in the group as usual.

Today is Day 26 of the 50 Day challenge
Going well...I do notice if I start my day with protein like eggs I manage my meals a lot better.
This morning I started my day with a smoothie.
As you all know by now I am allowed 30g of sugar a day.
Am managing to keep to this by watching my fruit and dairy intake.
When I have completed the 50 days I am going to join Jorge Cruise on the 15g of sugar a day program.
I want to see if that is do able.
Reading his book
The Belly Fat Diet
All that he says makes such sense.
I am ready as I said before to cut out more dairy from my eating plan..
And I'm happy with Blueberries or Strawberries in my diet.

I did the 8.55km run today in this heat...I struggled...
And soon I am off to teach The Power Ladies.

Today we have 30 Degrees
Monday its 17
Tues its 16
How pathetic is this weather.

Day 25/50 - Half way

DAY 25 TODAY...
THATS THE HALF WAY MARK FOR THE CHALLGENGE

I climbed on the scale this morning and was very happy to see I had lost more weight since my Monday weigh in.
My official weigh in is on Friday....so will wait till then to disclose my current weight and losses

I am weighing in every 2nd day due to the challenge.
Once this challenge is completed and I take with me what I am currently learning I will only weigh in once a week...

Having cut back my sugar intake has really taught me so much more
I am feeling a lot better and energetic as well.

Over the last year I have learned so much.
That fat does not make you fat
That calories in to calories out does not work
I don't need to count points
That counting points does not teach me to make healthy choices
I can live without Gluten and Grains
Cutting back my fruit is very do able
Eating more protein and full fat keeps me fuller for longer and prevents those cravings.

I really love where i am in my life when it comes to eating and training
I know I don't have to train everyday to maintain my weight, this takes away the stress I used to feel when I never got a training session in for a day.
I know weight training is very important for my body as is interval training.

I'm in a happy place.

Day 24/50

I tried my new Gluten free bread with one boiled egg and 1/4 avo for lunch today.
It looked all beautiful for me while I took this photo, but the moment I picked it up to eat, the bread fell apart...so was a mess to eat.
I'm so over bread...eating this bread has confirmed that I don't miss bread in my day to day life after 11 months without.
I will finish the small loaf as not cheap, and then not buy again.
I will attempt to bake the Paleo bread sometime....

I had a smoothie for breakfast today
I used half a glass of Kefir and the other half with Almond milk
1 small banana
Handful of fresh Blueberries
2 Tsp Flaxseed
1 Tsp Protein Powder
Sprinkle of coconut flakes.
IT WAS REALLY TASTY AND FILLING.

Lunch was the sandwich above
Dinner will be left over Salmon from last night with Salad.

I ate one snack today - i mixed together.
3Tsp plain 1/5% fat organic yogurt
1 Tsp Greek yogurt
1 tsp Almond butter
1/2 Apple

I did interval training for one hour this morning with a skipping rope and kettle bells
5kgs, 7.5kgs and 10kgs
Worked on my shoulders, triceps, biceps, and Abs

Later I am off to teach The Power Ladies an interval workout with Low Impact, Boxing and High impact, with floor work at the end with a stretch.

The weather is awesome at the moment....27 degrees today.

Day 23/50

Today is Day 23 - nearly half way with the No sugar Challenge.
Today is also ONE month since I turned 50...time flies...I want it to go slower as I don't like aging... :)

I weighed in this morning...The last time was on Friday where I had gained 800g since my last Friday's weigh in..
Well I am very happy to say that this morning I was down 1kg...
That made my Monday for me...not only was the sun shining and the sky blue after I have no idea how long...I was down on the scale.

I walked to Town today instead of driving my car...
I wanted to be as active as possible..and with the great weather it was perfect to take a walk.
Got home 1hr 30 mins later had lunch and then lay in the sun tanning till 4pm
My friend and one of The Power Ladies I teach arrived for a run.
WE did 10.55km
In 1hr 5 mins.
I was thrilled as mostly uphill the Trail route we ran today and of course HOT
I really have to push when I run with my friend as she is young...in her 20's and fast
Which is good for me...It makes me work harder.

While out this morning I stopped at the Health shop to tell them about the Paleo bread I had seen advertised...the ingredients needed if I wanted to make myself...
When she showed me the Gluten Free breads they sell.
I was like * Oh yes I have seen that bread...its not what I want *
When she said they had THIS new bread. Had come in over the weekend.
I took it a look and saw it looked like no other Gluten free breads I had seen before
So bought
Tested when home with Almond butter...
Tomorrow will make a sandwich with eggs and try again
Its been 11 months since I have eaten bread...so have to get used to the taste again.
But am excited as it looks good.

Day 22/50

How many of you who read my blog are waiting for my entry where I say I have fallen..
Eating lots of sugar again ...blah, blah, blah
One thing I have noticed after blogging for 6 years is that people only comment when disaster happens..
No one bothers to leave a comment when things are all good in your life.
I always wonder why this is.
Do we thrive on others unhappiness only
Do we thrive when others fail...does it make us feel better with our failures.
Well I have no idea why people are like this...but its my experience in life.
So...
What I have to say today is...
I AM 22 DAYS ON THE 50DAYSNOSUGARCHALLENGE
and all is going well.
NO, I HAVE NOT FAILED..
Nor have I failed
I have not given in to temptations.

I'm doing well.
