The Result of hard work.

So after the great week I had last week...the huge amount of calories I burned while staying within my calories allowed per day and having run 36 km ( 22.36 miles ) and doing lots of Kettlebell workouts....I GAINED ONE KILO ( 2.2lbs )
And you know what...its only a number...
By doing everything right I am going to take it and run with it as who knows what will happen later this week with my weight...
I am maintaining....since New Year my weight has remained the same for a few 100 grams here and there...
I'm happy, at least I'm no longer overweight....still the thinnest I've been in over 15 years...thats satisfying in itself.
So why am I sharing this if its okay you ask!
I'm sharing so that you can see our bodies are unique and no matter how much you do or the effort you put in, you don't always get the results you are looking for, and that its not the end of the just keep going cause after all, this is not a diet, this is a lifestyle...

Very happy to add that today the postman delivered my book
The 17 Day Diet Book.
I'm going to take my time reading it and if I want to attempt one cycle I will do it when hubby is away on a business trip as that way its going to be so much easier to attempt...

  1. Clap, Clap, Clap, Clap ...... Marcelle I am so proud of you right now. For a long time you focused on the numbers, but now you are seeing the big picture. Those numbers on the scale are maddening. If you know in your heart you are putting in your best effort, that's what matters. And you are definitely putting in your best effort you little hottie! Good work.

  2. just what i needed to hear today!
    your awesome!

  3. Great attitude! Don't forget that doing a lot of exercise with weights will not only get you to put on more muscle but will also cause your muscles to hold onto water, which also affects the number on the scale. I always weigh more the day after a heavy weight workout.
    Keep up the great work!

  4. Maintaining and feeling comfortable with your body is great. I think you look fantastic and am glad you feel fantastic too.

I'm interested to know if you like the book and the program. Please keep us posted.

  5. As you know there could be so many reasons for a gain. You could be retaining. You could have ate a salty meal that you dont remeber. As females our bodies do very strange things!!
You look awesome and you are now at the point where you are going to go back and forth by a few pounds..So don't sweat it! You have also been working out a lot lately and that could have somthing to do with it. But I would not worry about it. It will all even out.
I mean after all..You did not go and do anything like what I did..LOL
Hope to chat with you soon!

  6. What a great attitude. I know that I could never be able to take a gain that well with all the effort put into it. If it is a gain where I knew I could do better then it is easier to take. You are truly a motivational and remarkable woman!! Keep it up!

  7. Marcelle,

Thank you for being open and honest about this. I, as well as others, think you are doing a PHENOMENAL job, and continue to do so!! Kudos to you, my friend!!

  8. Oh this is the most frustrating time of my weight loss journey that you are going through. That darn scale is so maddening and it begins to not make sense once you lose your weight.

Our bodies will even out and they will decide where you should maintain. It was so hard for me to give in to this I fought it and only got pelted in the face when the number wasn't what I expected.

    Good job Marcelle!
