Yesterday I took the day off....I was exhausted.....spent the whole morning in bed sleeping...I got up...tried to do a few things, but landed up back in bed....by the afternoon I felt a lot better...I did wake up with a sore throat in the morning, feel as if I am still struggling with this * virus * which started a month ago.
I am still tracking my foods and eating clean...
I bought flaxseeds and Omega 3 mixed....shew, what a horrible smell and taste...
Will finish it as it cost a fortune...but yuck!!!
Today I went out for a run....I felt I needed to run again as my last run was on Sunday
I started off ~ all down hill...
Then flat...
Then all uphill.....
uphill, uphill and more uphill...
I started running from lamp post to lamp post ~ then walking from lamp post to lamp post
anything to keep me running...
while out there today my head told myself
* Marcelle, enough, its time to stop running *
I feel like a new runner, like I did when I started running over two years ago..
My body feels so out of sync ~ my legs, feet and body are not working together...
I have no idea what is going on, if this is normal...
I'm feeling so despondent right now
I want to throw in the towel...but am fighting it...
I want the love for running to return...
I want to run and love it, I want to feel good and not that each step I take is a struggle.
Today I ran 5.7km in 40 mins
I did 5km in 33 mins...then walked up the very steep hills home....that took up a lot of my time.
Burned 605 calories, which is a lot for me for the time, as I usually burn 500 calories in an hour.
My HR was 134 - 151 and only 25% fat...
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you get your running mojo back.
ReplyDeleteI'm so far behind in blogs as I've had some health probs going on here and then working. Sighhh no me time!!!
I got your recipe!!!! My pretty yellow envelope arrived last week. I sent you an email, but must've been to the account you couldn't get. Thank you so much. Hubby is going to cook it next week!
Feel better soon my friend.
Honey, something is up. I hope things get resolved and soon Marcelle.
ReplyDeleteHormones? MS? What is going on?
Take a step back at the running, add more walk breaks and it will get back to you. That flu is bothering you for a month now and the weather is different.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what could be the problem with your HR being higher. Keep an eye on it.
That doesn't sound good. Take care of yourself and keep listening to your body. I hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what is going on but something about the flax mixture struck me...I have read before when flax goes rancid it has a foul smell!!! Could this mix be gone bad?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteHope you get better soon and some answers to why you are experiencing theses things.
the post was right underneath the one you commented on. In the two months of the shred challenge I lost 7 inches and 5.2 pounds. I'm 1.5 pounds off of the weight I want to be to board the cruise ship and I am hoping for the best, if not I know I've done everything I can ;-).
ReplyDeleteWhat a frustrating place to be in! I sincerely hope you feel better and back to normal soon, and good for you keeping up the eating clean in the meantime! Good thoughts to you, and I hope you are having a better day today...
ReplyDeleteHmmm, yes I think something is off. Though it's hard to pinpoint what it might be.
ReplyDeleteIn respect to running, you might want to consider stepping away from running for a bit. There are so many activities that you do regularly and since you're not training for a race, you could easily switch to something else. Why not wait and see if that burning desire comes back to you.
Honestly, I don't think it's your running or your desire that is suffering. I think something is off - health, hormones, MS, location, stress ... something.
Do know that most runners go through periods of being off, so it's not abnormal. There are times where I have multiple bad runs in a row. It's frustrating because you know what you normally can do and you want to do it, but you can't make yourself. Though it is a bit concerning that this has been going on for a little longer than normal for now. I don't know what else to tell you, but I hope it balances itself out soon! Take care Marcelle!
Perhaps it's the change in location that is impacting your exercise regime. Just a thought ;)
